Plastic tunnels, plastic buildings, plastic everywhere!

The climate change situation is getting worse in less time than expected. The last International Panel on climate change (IPPC) assessment confirms it. “We’re already experiencing climate change, including more frequent and more extreme weather events” IPPC author Prof Ed Hawking stated in an interview.

An Indonesian activist from Ecoton (ecological observation and wetland conservation) prepares an installation made with used plastic bottles collected from the river in Gresik, to raise public awareness of plastic waste in rivers and oceans.

As presented in this illustration people are taking action to save the planet. An Indonesian activist from the Ecological Observation and Wetland Conservation created this astonishing tunnel, all made with 4,444 plastic bottles that were collected from the river in Gresik. Raising awareness of plastic waste in rivers and oceans. This plastic tunnel shows how humans will be covered by plastic if they don’t act to prevent it.

Ecological Observation and Wetlands Conservation (Ecoton) was established in 1996 as a Biology Study Program wetland conservation group in UNAIR and was incorporated in 2000, due to a sense of concern for environmental problems in East Java, especially in Surabaya River. Lots of river pollution that looks real but there is no action.
